For those in prison without trial
Lord Jesus Christ,
you could not tell Pilate what you had done
in words he could ever understand
Look now with compassion
on all those in prison without trial,
for whom justice is an illusion,
whose confinement is illegal.
Help us to demand justice for them,
a right to speak and be spoken for,
a right of release where there is no crime
for your name's sake. Amen

Prayers
In this space you are invited to pray for the people who live in this house. Some you might have met already, others are unseen and others you will never see, because they are in solitary confinement, taken hostage or simply disappeared. Yet all these are here.
You might like to light a candle as a focus for meditation, or focus on a person, or someone highlighted by Amnesty. You could also focus your prayers on a local prison, or pray for your prison chaplains and visitors.
You could also use these prayers along with the Stations of the Cross or similar prayer journey of the last events of Jesus' life from his arrest to his death and resurrection.
