For those arrested without cause
Lord Jesus Christ,
You knew the pain
and betrayal of arrest
Yet you did not struggle
You let yourself be taken into custody
for the sake of the world.
Look now with compassion
on all those arrested without cause,
who embarrass the powers that be,
whose faces do not fit,
the fall guys and the foolish,
fear with a human form.
Help us fight for them
not with swords but with demand for justice
for your name's sake. Amen

Prayers
In this space you are invited to pray for the people who live in this house. Some you might have met already, others are unseen and others you will never see, because they are in solitary confinement, taken hostage or simply disappeared. Yet all these are here.
You might like to light a candle as a focus for meditation, or focus on a person, or someone highlighted by Amnesty. You could also focus your prayers on a local prison, or pray for your prison chaplains and visitors.
You could also use these prayers along with the Stations of the Cross or similar prayer journey of the last events of Jesus' life from his arrest to his death and resurrection.
