Prayers
For those who have been driven out of their homes
Lord Jesus Christ,
you knew the wrath of crowds bearing stones.
Sometimes you had to leave and move on
when everyone around wanted you gone.
Look now with compassion
on all those who have been driven from their homes,
for fear of violence and persecution,
because of war, because of hatred
or because they were different in some way.
Help us always to remember those
who have lost their homes, friends, family and communities.
May we always respond to them with love and with arms wide
For your name’s sake. Amen.
