For those whose homes have been destroyed
Lord Jesus Christ,
you knew the forces of nature: how storms could wreck houses
built on sand, boats needed for a person’s livelihood.
When your friends called to you, you did not fail them
Look now with compassion
on all those whose homes have been destroyed
by fire, flood, storm or earthquake,
whose jobs are gone, lives ruined.
Help us to respond to such disaster
helping people rebuild, remake, restore,
creating new communities of hope
For your name’s sake. Amen
